Genevieve has always had an eye for color and light. She spent much of her childhood abroad, living in Africa for ten years and graduating from high school in the Philippines before earning a BA in Art History from Smith College.

She worked for twelve years as a professional photographer and is also a dedicated quilt maker. Throughout these creative pursuits, she long imagined trying her hand at fine art painting. In April 2025, she finally took the leap—and has been painting steadily ever since.

Genevieve has committed to learning and mastering this new medium by completing 300 paintings as quickly as possible. Each painting listed for sale is part of these first 300 works and is individually numbered. The number appears in the description [##], which may make owning one of these early pieces especially meaningful.

She regularly revisits these works to observe her evolution in skill, style, subject matter, media, and speed. While efficiency is part of the process, she avoids overworking a piece to the point that it becomes merely a facsimile of the original image, losing both the artist’s personal imprint and the energy of the human hand.

As her daughter puts it, the goal is for the work to look realistic while still clearly remaining a painting—an ongoing balance Genevieve continues to pursue.
